“It Ain’t No Sin to be Glad You’re Alive”

“You better listen to me baby, talk about a dream, try to make it real

You wake up in the night with a fear so real

You spend your life waiting for a moment that just don’t come

Well don’t waste your time waiting”

On Tuesday, my mom was released from the hospital having survived neck surgery. Being available, I drove her to my sister’s house – which I had yet to have seen after three years- where she will recuperate. Then I drove another hour and I made it just in time to visit and laugh with the ole’ gang from my previous professional adventure.

On Wednesday I woke up and headed out with my childhood bff to see Springsteen in the Meadowlands. I have seen him dozens of times. I have been to at least one show in Philadelphia for every tour since 1990, I’ve seen him in a few other spots, and even touched him at Jazz fest in NOLA, but I had yet to ever see him in our home state of NJ, nor ever with my friend since birth, Corinne, and it was on my bucket list.

On Thursday I was enlisted to watch, and be watched by, my two favorite girls; we had a joyful family day.

And today, not only did we get the second largest paycheck, but also I must catch up on the most work I’ve had to date for Drass and Associates.

I have believed in myself and worked through many, many rough weeks over the last 14 months; this one has made all of those so worth it.

“It ain’t no sin to be glad you’re alive.”
