Eleven years ago, I sat down next to Nadiyah Gary and we started the next part of our mutual journey in hospital administration. Over the next decade, we made great progress in improving safety, treatment outcomes, and patient and staff satisfaction.
Nadiyah is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, administration, and consulting. She is a specialist in patient care quality improvement, nursing education, infection prevention, data management, patient safety, clinical informatics, and staff development.
In her nursing career, Nadiyah has held leadership positions in long-term care and behavioral medicine settings, including Director of Nursing, Clinical Informaticist, Patient Safety Officer, Clinical Health Educator, and Infection Preventionist. She was appointed Infection Preventionist just a few weeks before the pandemic began, and she helped the staff navigate the crisis with her expertise.
Nadiyah is a passionate advocate for patient safety and quality care. She has helped organizations implement electronic health records (EHRs) and other clinical information systems. She is also a mentor to aspiring nurses and is committed to helping them succeed in their careers. She has taught mandatory nursing competencies, CPR, and crisis de-escalation.
As a consultant, Nadiyah’s current focus is life care planning, EHR reviews and audits, and standards of care adherence issues.
In her spare time, Nadiyah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and cooking. She is also an avid reader and enjoys learning new things.
Nadiyah is one of the brightest and most ambitious people I know. I am honored and excited to announce that she is part of the Drass and Associates team.
